Walk from Hawk Nest to Haltia Finnish Nature Center and visit their restaurant. The nature of the Nuuksio National Park awaits you.
The Finnish Nature Centre Haltia is Natura Viva’s partner in the greater Nuuksio area. Now you can visit both Haltia and Natura Viva’s Hawk Nest on the Hawk lake shore during one visit to Nuuksio, as the connecting trail has been opened recently. The length of the trail is 4,6 kilometers one way.
If starting from Haltia, first you will hike along the lake Pitkäjärvi, the largest lake in Nuuksio. Needless to say the views are fantastic here. Reserve enough time and just enjoy the spectacular hike.

There’s a newly built campfire and picnic site on the northern shore of lake Pitkäjärvi. Take a breather there before heading on to the forest.
The Finnish Nature Centre Haltia in Nuuksio features a cafe and a restaurant as well as changing exhibitions and an info center on the Finnish wildlife. There are also WC facilities.
At the Hawk Nest all visitors will be served by the lovely Cafe Silva. Buy small snacks, hot and cold beverages and ice cream and sit to enjoy your purchases on the beautiful Hawk Lake shore. There are also a water post and an outhouse by the Hawk Nest.
The connecting trail features many demanding segments, steep climbs, uphills, stairways and uneven terrain.
