Stand up paddling, or SUP, is an ancient pacific fishers’ tradition, which has transformed into a beloved and easy-going summer sport, also in Finland. The paddler stands on a wide and long, surfboard-related board and paddles on with a one-oar paddle.
When doing SUP just for fun, the waters should be calm. The Paddling Center in Vuosaari, Helsinki, and Hawk Nest in Nuuksio National Park, Espoo offer exactly these kind of conditions. You can paddle on the tranquil Hawk Lake in Nuuksio or accept the slightly more demanding challenge that is Iso Kallahti bay in Vuosaari. On sunny days there’s almost nothing that can match SUP’s relaxation level – except to embark on a guided SUP tour, where all You have to do is to paddle easy on and follow the guide. Sounds fab, doesn’t it?
We offer guided SUP tours in Nuuksio National Park and group SUP tours and SUP board rentals also at the Vuosaari Paddling Center, Helsinki.
Nature Viva arranges weekly SUP tours in Nuuksio National Park. In Nuuksio the SUP is always a calm and relaxed event, since the Hawk Lake offers mostly windless weather conditions. The Nuuksio SUP Adventure takes the paddlers to the other end of the lake where a stop at the campfire is made. The tours include transport back and forth from downtown Helsinki.
All scheduled events are also available as private tours for small groups (minimum 4 persons). For even bigger travel groups we offer various possibilities for SUP tours. Contact us and let’s plan your SUP experience together. Read more on our group page.
